Nail pro, Metta Francis, shares how the NailKind brand has enhanced her award-winning mobile business…
With two Scratch Stars Natural Nail Specialist of the Year accolades under her belt, and a place in the awards’ Hall of Fame for winning Mobile Nailist of the Year in 2015, 2017 and 2019, Metta Francis has an eye for excellence. So when choosing brands for her mobile and session business, Nails by Mets, her standards are high. After Danish nail colour and care company, NailKind, caught Metta’s attention online and she trialled its products, she was captivated by its ethos and quality, and the brand’s shades and treatment products are now staples in her kit.
“I noticed NailKind on my social media feed, and was instantly attracted to the fact its nail polishes are derived of up to 85% bio-sourced ingredients,” Metta tells Scratch. “I loved the look of the brand and was intrigued to find out more.”
The nail pro invested in NailKind lacquers for a pop-up nail bar, which Nails by Mets hosted at a Ramadan event in the Westfield London shopping centre in 2021. “It was there that my team and I fell in love with the brand, as did the guests who visited for manicures,” says Metta.
“Nails by Mets offers NailKind manicures at corporate events, and the response to the brand has been incredibly positive. Clients are impressed by its large selection of nail colours, as well as the quality and longevity of the products,” Metta continues.
“NailKind’s colour formula is so creamy, and the lacquer brush means I can effortlessly paint close to the cuticle area and sidewalls. This makes working on sets or at fast-paced events easier. The nail lacquers last around seven days on fingernails and even longer on toenails.”
Metta adds that clients are drawn to the mineral and plant-based formulations of NailKind’s products: a feature that encouraged the nail pro to try the brand. “The plant-based formula comprises ingredients such as potato, corn and wheat,” she comments. “These haven’t been adopted to meet modern consumer demands; they’re features that the brand is passionate about.”
Metta notes that NailKind offers colour and nailcare products to meet a variety of client preferences and nail needs, but those with an environmentally conscious lifestyle may feel most aligned with the products. “NailKind’s vegan and cruelty-free credentials and ingredients sourced from nature are hugely popular among vegan beauty enthusiasts,” she reveals. Alongside trend-led nail polish colours, which are released every eight weeks, NailKind’s nailcare products include base and top coats, strengtheners, a ridge filler, whitening product and cuticle oil.
“I love that NailKind is a small business and has a strong brand identity and reputation,” Metta concludes.
“The bottles are sleek and look professional, offering a luxury feel without a luxury price tag. As the products are financially accessible, clients often express an interest in buying them to use at-home or as a gift.”
