WHAT I’M WEARING: Jessica Davies, Killer Krystals and Alter Ego Nails

Jessica Davies, of Killer Krystals and Alter Ego Nails, created a shimmering nude nail look complete with crystal cuticle detail and encapsulated foil.
“I created this design using Naio’s acrylic system. I used Soft Beige to cover the nail beds, then I encapsulated iridescent glitters and gold foil with Crystal Clear. Finally, I top coated with Kiara Sky no wipe top coat and applied Athena AB Rhinestones from my brand, Killer Krystals.
“I wore this design over Christmas and New Year. I wanted something sparkly and festive, but not too colourful.
“I take a lot of my inspiration from US-based tech, Yen Vuong. She does amazing encapsulated designs with a variety of mixed media. The design I created was centred around the encapsulation of gold foil, which seems to be very popular at the moment.
“I particularly love how the foil works in this design. When it is encapsulated, it provides a completely different aesthetic than when it is burnished over a top coat.”
