We want to see what you’re wearing on your nails!
Jade Robinson, of JADE: Professional Beauty, wears super cute Dumbo-inspired nails.
“I created my Dumbo nails by, first infilling with CND Brisa Sculpting Gel and prepping them for painting where I then using CND Shellac in Digi-Teal. To create the cloud effect I painted rough, wiggly white lines using my Lecenté S1 Brush and then dipped a small gel brush into D Sperse and very gently blended out the white to give the fluffy cloud effect I was looking for. I then proceeded to draw my outline of Dumbo. After searching for various images online, I found one that I loved with his clown make-up on and decided to use that as my reference. I used a white gel polish to draw the entire outline, which lets me get a better idea of proportions, and then proceeded to colour in and hand paint all of the details using CND Shellac and my Lecenté brushes. The idea for the thumb came from some circus images I had seen of Dumbo balancing on a large ball, so I decided to incorporate that into my design.
“I always take time for myself once a month to sit and do my own nails: it’s my Sunday afternoon tradition where I like to come up with something new. I was definitely inspired by the new Dumbo film coming out, which I’ll have to go and see!
“I love that this design is completely original. I always try and look for images of art, or even movie stills, to get inspiration for my sets and to create something completely different from my last. I like to challenge myself as I think this definitely helps me better my nail art skills.”
