WHAT I’M WEARING: Amber-Jane Parish, The Painted Lady Nails
By Sophie Nutt | 01 December 2019 | Feature, Tech Talk

We want to see what you’re wearing on your nails!
Amber-Jane Parish, of The Painted Lady Nails, wears a winter giraffe nail look inspired by a fellow tech!
“I created these nails using mainly liquid and powder. Firstly, I sculpted my clear base and then to create the ombré design I used Glam and Glits Acrylic Powder in Ultra White and 1st Impression. I then created the ring finger design using Marilyn and encapsulating a layer of black glitter on top. For the snowflake, I hand painted the design with a fine brush and gel polish then sprinkled some white acrylic powder over the design before curing. Finally, for my giraffe I created a black base using Marilyn. I then proceeded to build up my giraffe for a 3D effect using coloured acrylic with some acrylic paint accents. To finish, I embellished my ombré nails and gave my giraffe a crown using all Swarovski Crystals from Bluestreak Crystals.
“I was inspired by the work of @lakutinaelena. I adore her 3/4D work with animals and I had to have a go! I had previously created a frog design (as that is my partners favourite animal) and decided to give some others ago. Giraffes are my mum’s favourite animal so I created them with her in mind!
“My favourite thing about this design it is full of contrasts! For example, the soft pastel ombré against the bold black – not to mention the wintery snowflake next to a giraffe! I love how none of it should look good together but somehow it just works, and that is the beauty of this industry.”
