Suzanne Edge, of Sparkle Beauty, reveals that unique marble designs topped with glitter have been popular with her clients recently.
“Marble nails have been so popular with my clients as they are a great way of getting a lot of colour into one design. Glitter is so on trend at the moment and clients are going for more bolder choices and more of it!
“I first started off with a clear thin base using CJP Crystal Glass. For the thumb and pinkie I first applied a cover bead using Cherry Blossom Blush from CJP and gently blended it towards the free edge. I then picked up a small, wet bead of clear and dipped into my glitter, applied to the nails and blended upwards. For the ring finger I used a selection of coloured acrylics that contrasted with each other. I always advise using at least one very vibrant/strong colour to give marble designs the best effect. I just picked up small, wet beads of each colour, place them on the nail and take the tip of my brush to gently swirl. Be careful not to overwork the product or it will lose the marbling.
“I used the same technique for the index fingers once a reverse smile line has been applied. The middle finger has angel paper applied at the tip so it glistens in the light. To apply this, lay a very wet thin layer of clear down and quickly stick your angel paper strips to it before allowing to set. Using the same technique to pick up glitter as before, pick up a contrasting glitter to the pink and thumb and gently drag down. Then, using your wet brush, pick up small pieces of your other glitter to tie them both together. Allow everything to set before capping in clear. All the glitters used in this designs are from Diamond Glitters and give such a beautiful shine.
“This has been one of my favourite sets to create over the past few weeks as it’s so vibrant and colourful. Each nail offers something different and unique!”
