Sinead Bulley, of The Nail Shack, reveals doughnut nails have been popular with her clients recently.

“I think this design has been popular as its cute and a bit different especially with the lovely weather we have had recently, it’s made people go a bit brighter and more adventurous with their colour and design choices.

“To create this look, I infilled my client’s nails with dark pink polygon to start. Then, it was time for the exciting design part…

“For the doughnut nails, I started applying Magpie Beauty’s Give Me Strength in Peach for the base colour and cured for 60 seconds. Then, using the detailer brush and Magpie Beauty Cotton Candy gel colour, painted on the dripping French to the tips of the nails and cured for 60 seconds. Using various other gel polish colours, I painted the little strands for the hundreds and thousands detailing and cured again.

“For the chrome nails, I painted the nail with a base of Magpie Beauty’s Black Betty and cured for 60 seconds. Then, using Magpie Beauty’s Don’t Be Tacky, apply generously to the nail and allow to self level for 30 seconds. Then, cure for 60 seconds. Using a chrome applicator and the new Iconic Chrome Dust in Florence, rub over the nails to achieve a high chrome look. Gently file the free edge with a 240-grit buffer and dust off any excess before applying Give Me Strength in Clear.

“For the sugared glitter nails, apply a base colour of Cotton Candy and cure for 60 seconds. Then, using Don’t Be Tacky, apply a coat to the nail and sprinkle on Magpie Beauty Glitter in Laura, then cure for 60 seconds and dust off the excess. Finally, top coat all the nails apart from those that have sugared glitter with Magpie Beauty’s Shine Bright.

“I really love this nail look as it’s really fun and cute! I think the doughnut icing look is my favourite part as it just adds that subtle cuteness, especially teamed with a sprinkled glitter nail. A match made in sweet heaven!”
