Jay Eves, of Nails By Jay, reveals the 3D reverse French nail look has been extremely popular with clients recently.
“I believe this design has been so popular because of how many variations of it are possible: it’s allowing techs to be creative in a bespoke way that is personal to them and their skills.
“To create the look I sculpted a clear base with NSI in Clear, then using NSI in Rose Blush I created extended nail beds on each finger. Once set, I filed each one crisp using The Nail Tech Network Metal File, as this helps to keep the wall neat and even. To create each ring of colour, I used The Nail Tech Network Detailer Brush and painted the first colour partway down the tip, using Halo Gel Polish. I made sure that I brought the colour right up the wall of the extended nail bed – this is so important as this is what gives the design the 3D effect. Once cured, I wiped away the inhibition layer and capped in clear acrylic, filed and repeated the previous steps for each colour. I then filed and buffed the nail into shape and used Halo Gel Polish No Wipe Top Coat to finish.
“I love this look because it adds texture and depth to the nail while leaving the nail smooth for the client.”
