Diana Pajeva, of Diana’s Nail Art, says that this tropical nail look has been popular with her followers.

“This wild tropical look has been very trendy for quite a while now. We see it everywhere – fashion, interior design and of course in nail art! Also, it’s that time of year when nature is waking up and spring is bursting from every corner. So these nails are a celebration of spring!

“It was a gel polish manicure on natural nails and I used Gelish products to create this design. I love the latest collection of sheer natural colours, it’s an absolute must-have in my opinion. I use them a lot for French manicures, as a background for nail art or on its own. In this case I used On Cloud Mine and a mix of greens, Runway For Money and Do You Harajuku, for the jungle leaves that were drawn freehand. Then for gold botanical accents I used foil transfer gel and gold foil. It’s important to top coat it twice to that the foil print lasts for three-to-four weeks.

“This nail design was created for a holiday to Costa Rica, but unfortunately this trip was cancelled due to Covid-19. I absolutely love the botanical trend and I find green a very calming colour. It symbolises nature and is one of the most comforting colours. Colour psychology suggests that it attracts harmonious feelings that can diffuse anxiety and helps us stay calm and refreshed. I think it’s one of the reasons I’m subconsciously drawn to all shades of green.”
