The 5 social media mistakes that are stopping you from attracting clients to your beauty business

Are your social media accounts failing to attract your ideal clients? Here are the most common issues I see on the social media platforms of nail techs that prevent growth:
1. Lack of strategy.
Most nail techs use their social media accounts as photo albums. While this is great for inspiring clients and showcasing your work, it’s not so great if you want your business to grow faster than word of mouth will allow. I teach the strategy of awareness building, nurture and conversion. You need posts that cater to all buying stages.
2. Not making it easy to book an appointment.
You need to have a clear call to action on your social media pages for people to book an appointment. Most pages I visit make it really challenging to book, so evaluate how quickly someone find out a booking method if they landed on your profile.
TOP TIP: Writing ‘Message me to book’ on your profile doesn’t provide much clarity. Ensure there are links on your profile so potential clients simply click to message.
3. Not creating stand-out content.
If you want to stand out from the numerous nail pros sharing their business details in online groups, then add more detail to your pots. Share the nail problems you witness and how you nurture them. For example, share how you would support a client who finds it difficult to grow their natural nails.
4. Posting poor photos.
Social media is a visual arena, and photos need to be crisp and striking to attract attention. If you are sharing images consistently over several months, consider how you can improve the quality of your photos so they are clear, centered around the nails and show-stopping. The lighting needs to be amazing, too. One of the masterclasses inside the Nail Business Success Club teaches how to take great nail photos.
5. Inconsistency.
One of the main reasons why a social media account doesn’t make an impact is if posts and engagement are inconsistent. Comment regularly on the posts of others, and post frequently. People will not always be ready to book on the first or even tenth time you post, but if you keep posts consistent, then when they do decide to book an appointment, your profile is in the forefront of their minds.
Slaying your social media profiles can supercharge your success. It doesn’t need to take three years to get fully booked: you can do it in three months, but you have to stop just waiting for people to find you. Stand out from the crowd and shout consistently about how good you are!
