Scratch finds out more about nail tech, Yndaly Neimanis of Lee Beauty Studio as she unveils her plans for the future.

I have been doing nails since 2000 and have four to five bookings for manicures in a normal day. I am always looking for inspiration or soothing myself by watching nail videos. I think is safe to say I am totally nail obsessed!

As much as I love nail art, colourful designs and glitter, I always end up opting for a nude or neutral polish to wear on my own nails, purely out of convenience! I use The Gel Bottle’s Builder in a Bottle and I can’t be without my Navy Pro Tools day to day. I really admire the company’s founder, Rebecca Crawforth and I would love to make an impact as she has done. She’s a huge inspiration to me!

We are all aware that it is nearly impossible to have future plans, or even goals, at the minute, but I would love to become an educator in the near future. I am at the final stages to begin offering nail art workshops, while I get the certifications needed to teach.

Funny facts: Throughout my career, there are definitely some memorable funny moments. There have been a few times at the end of a long day, where I have gone to apply base coat instead of top coat. Or when I had just come back to work after the first lockdown, I was wearing a visor all day thinking I couldn’t see anything, just to find out at the end of the day that I didn’t remove the protective plastic layer!

Sound advice: My sister is my best friend and I talk to her about any decision I make. My husband, on the other hand, has always been incredible at supporting my craziness and every bold move I have made. If I had to pick the piece of advice that resonates in my head to the date it would be, even if is the first time you perform a treatment, look confident and repeat to yourself, ‘you are the professional’.
