Scratch catches up with nail tech, Natacha Botting, to learn more about her industry journey…
Natacha Botting used to work as a receptionist in a local beauty salon, where she would admire all of the client’s nails as they were paying for their treatments. “I decided to train as a nail tech and qualified in the spring of 2015,” Natacha says. “I now work from my home-based salon in Wroughton, Swindon.”
Her favourite nail creation is a Great Gatsby inspired look that she created. “There are so many of my nail designs that I love,” she comments. “However, I really enjoyed creating Gatsby-inspired nails using a dark glittery green, with gold foil and finished with hand painted squiggly lines.
Natacha’s goals for the year ahead include entering this year’s Scratch Stars Awards and completing an E-File course with The Gel Bottle. “I would also like to perfect my line work as there are so many inspirations in this industry,” she says. “I admire Learnah Starbuck, her work is flawless and her designs are so creative. I also admire founder of The Gel Bottle Inc, Daisy Kalnina, as she has created a brand loved all over the world.”
In fact, The Gel Bottle Inc is Natacha’s favourite brand. “Its Builder In A Bottle is a game changer and I cannot be without its detail and liner brushes. Another brand I love is Lecenté, as its range of glitters and foils are amazing.”
Natacha has had several career highlights so far, saying: “The highlight of my career so far is for being voted by readers as one of the top five nail bars in my area and now being asked to be featured on your website and social media, which is a huge achievement.”
