Kelly Kemp Nail Tech

Scratch catches up with nail tech, Kelly Kemp, to learn more about her industry journey…

Kelly Kemp

Kelly Kemp from Newquay, Cornwall, entered the nail industry in May 2018.

“I suffer from anxiety and depression and was in a bad place, so I was looking for something to help me pick myself up,” she explains. “I decided to try doing nails, so signed up to an online course. I worked very hard, practiced a lot and found it was something I loved and felt I was good at, so my career began from there.”

Kelly currently works from home, as she converted her spare room into a nail room. “My clients find it nice and relaxing, which is great. My main goal is to work hard and own my own salon in the future.”

She is most inspired by nail tech Kirsty Meakin, who she admires greatly.

Kelly leans towards long nails with a bit of bling. “I love Glitterbels’ acrylic products and The Gel Bottle Inc for my polishes. I love fancy designs! I’m just a small nail tech that’s at the beginning of my nail career, so I’m pleased every time I do clients’ nails and they go away very happy. I’m also excited to be appearing on Scratch’s website!”
