How long have you been with Dream Nails? I started as part timer about 13 years ago and have always been based in the Loughton salon.
Why do you love about working in the nail industry? Customer satisfaction. I love the fact I can make people look good and that is so rewarding. I also love working as part of an amazing team.
Describe yourself: I might act strict but in fact I’m quite easygoing.
What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your career? Teaching a junior various nail treatments, as teaching is a skill in itself.

How do you wear your nails? Stiletto shape.
What celebrity client would you love to have? Sarah Jessica Parker as she’s a fashion icon.
My goal: To be the best at what I do and be recognised for being a leading nail technician in the industry.
Mary – Dream Nails Loughton
How did you get into nails? Back in my school days I used to love art and when I finished school I went straight into hairdressing and nails. I love the creative side of nails; it can be both extreme and simple.
How long have you been with Dream Nails? For five great years.
Why do you love about working in the nail industry? Meeting new people, being creative with their nails and seeing a happy face after the treatment.
What is your career highlight? Being part of a leading nail team and making sure I am always learning the latest in nail design. I am a perfectionist!
What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your career? Starting as a junior learning all the ways that other technicians were trained in nails at college, as I learnt in a simpler way.
Fave treatment to perform: L&P acrylic and Bio Sculpture enhancements.
How do you wear your nails? I have mine quite long – crafted with L&P acrylic with a design. I change them regularly!
What celebrity client would you love to have? Beyoncé. I’m a big fan of hers and it would be amazing to do her nails.
My goal: To progress further in the industry as well as hopefully in the future build my own business.
Nina – Dream Nails Wanstead
How did you get into nails? I’ve been brought up doing nails, so I was working between two salons which my mum and my auntie own when I was a teenager and also went to college to get my qualification.
How long have you been with Dream Nails? About 2 years, since the Wanstead branch first opened.
Why do you love about working in the nail industry? I enjoy it because I can express myself creatively by doing nail art and also love meeting new clients.
What is your career highlight? Having the opportunity to explore nails creatively; this is all down to the client giving us trust to explore something new. That never gets old.
What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your career? It was leaping into London, from the coastal town of Southsea. It felt like a significant change, but well worth it.
Fave treatment to perform: L&P acrylic enhancements for sure! The transformation from short to long nails still amazes me.
How do you wear your nails? I normally have gel polish or SNS dipping powder. I like them short and sweet.
What celebrity client would you love to have? Doja Cat. I love pink and I feel like she would go all out with a crazy design.
Fun fact: I am a triplet.
My goal: To eventually progress into the fashion world and work creatively with nails on shoots and major events, that’s the vision.
Mimi – Dream Nails Wanstead
How did you get into nails? After attending beauty college, the main thing that stuck out to me was the nails side. After qualifying, I then took an additional NVQ Level 2 nail course.

Why do you love about working in the nail industry? I love the interaction with clients and all the different people you meet along the way.

What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your career? The biggest challenge I have faced is doing a very intricate nail design for a special occasion. The pressure is on when you know your work will be the talking point for someone’s event.
Fave treatment to perform: I love to do pedicures! The treatment is very satisfying.
How do you wear your nails? I actually have my nails really plain; just a simple manicure every fortnight.
What celebrity client would you love to have? I would love to do Kylie Jenner’s nails! She always sets the trends for upcoming nail trends.
Fun fact: I don’t like long nails on myself. I was going to write that I’m taller than my husband for my weird fact but he might not be too happy!
My goal: I would love to eventually open up my own business in another country. I would like to relocate to Australia.
