Nails continue to hold focus in high fashion and popular culture, with chosen styles now playing a pivotal role in fashion shows and for self-expression. From dazzling glitter to chic negative space designs, the addition of nail art offers clients the opportunity to pay homage to an outfit, trend or occasion – and is a talking point amongst peers.

However, as increasingly time-poor clients often find themselves stepping out on their lunch breaks to squeeze in a nail treatment or trying to fit in a manicure around career and family roles, nail art may not appear to be a viable option. Ensure they don’t miss out by deploying and offering on-trend options that can be created at speed – and revel in the additional revenue from the treatment.

“We are bombarded with images of nail art these days,” reveals Rachel Gribble, Salon System educator. “Most of these images are beautiful and creative but also very intricate and complex, and the risk is not to be able to realise them in a busy salon setting. For this reason, you need to offer nail art options that are quick, easy and affordable. There are plenty of designs and nail art techniques that are easy to do and yield great results. The client, who is usually short of time too, will appreciate something quick yet creative.”

Adding speedy nail art services to your roster comes at little cost to your business but will see a level of appreciation from clients, adds Rachel. “Most clients love nail art, whether it is on all of the nails or just a few. All generations appreciate it but I’d say it is particularly good for busy people and also clients who want to change quickly, as they can try different designs without spending too much time in the salon.”

“Historically, express services have been targeted towards career individuals as lunchtime treatments,” comments Hannah Bawden, general manager at ArtPro Nail UK Ltd. “Now, the general population is growing increasingly time-poor meaning the demand for express services continues to soar.

“Speedy treatments also open up the tech’s diaries to offer more appointments, and with a population willing to pay for shorter appointment times, it’s a fantastic way to boost revenue!”
