Stunning scarlet nail styling & a powerful message about beauty, combine in a photographic project revealed by Brillbird educator, Neringa Alsauskiene.

Captivating with a striking, scarlet stiletto nail, Neringa Alsauskiene created a series of images that celebrates both the beauty and strength of womankind. Contrasting against her model’s pale skin and raven black eyes, Neringa’s nail work powerfully commands the image, with her use of red tones conveying strength and power.

“I believe that everyone has different understanding of what beauty is,” Neringa Alsauskiene states. “I’m trying to show in my work that while we are all different, we are all beautiful. I believe that a beautiful woman is someone who is individual; someone that is not like the others. Every technician also has their style; it’s important to find your own.”

The Brillbird educator for London and Gloucestershire wanted to create a set of images that explores the concept of beauty – and, in turn, its power. “For this project, I wanted to mix modern fashion trends with natural beauty,” Neringa continues. “My model, Aurelija Jancijuk, was amazing. She helped me develop my vision and bring it to life. Her features are so authentic; I couldn’t imagine any other model who would impart the emotion of the project any better.”

With her project’s message firmly in place, Neringa began to conceptualise the images. “I started to play with colours and decorations and found that I was drawn to the dominance of the colour red. The shade symbolises a woman’s energy, strength and her ambitions, yet at the same time it shows modernity.”

The nail design and make-up took on this symbolism. “I chose an extreme stiletto; I believe it’s an exclusive and deluxe shape,” Neringa reveals. “I also believe this style characterise the idea of the ‘different woman’ I wanted to portray. I incorporated crystal decorations into the nail look as I believe it gives a feeling of luxury and sparkle to the design.

“My make-up artist, Vesta Naumantaite, created a delicate make-up look, crafting a beautiful brow look. This style helped to consolidate the image of a strong and brave woman. I think the brows are the perfect counterpart to my stiletto nails. This project would not have been possible without my amazing team as a whole.”

Neringa’s style and talent is evident in the final images and especially in the nails. “My job as an educator and nail artist is also my biggest passion,” Neringa smiles. “There’s no better feeling than my clients delighted with my work. I believe that, as a nail technician, I am able to help women to expose their femininity, elegance and sophistication. This was the idea that truly powered my project.”

NOW – CREATE THE LOOK

STEP 1

Prepare the natural nail plate for enhancements. Remove cuticle from the nail plate, remove the surface shine from the nail and the file free edge. Remove any dust. Use Brillbird Spray Prep, Nail Prep and Primer for enhanced adhesion.

STEP 2

Apply Brillbird Nail Form in the correct shape and angle for a stiletto shape. On the natural nail, apply base gel thinly and cure 30 seconds in an LED lamp on two minutes in UV lamp.

STEP 3

Use Brillbird Cover Pink Builder Gel and with Brillbird Hard Gel Brush apply gel on natural nail and extend the free edge thinly to create a stiletto extension with the form. Cure in the LED lamp for five seconds or 10-15 seconds with UV. Apply a pinching clip to hold the C-curve and cure in the LED lamp 30 second or UV two minutes.

STEP 4

Continue to extend natural nail and free edge with Brillbird Cover Pink Builder Gel and build the upper arch of the nail. Cure in LED lamp for five second or UV 10 to 15 seconds. Using pinching tool pinch extended nail shape and cure in LED lamp 30 second or UV two minutes and cleanse. File extended nail shape and refine the nail surface using Brillbird 150 grit file followed by 180 grit file. Buff to remove any surface scratches to create a smooth surface. Clean away any dust.

STEP 5

Paint a deep smile line French tip with Brillbird 0 Art Brush. Paint a French tip using Brillbird Brush&Go Colour Gel in 03 with the Smile Line Brush. Cure in an LED lamp for 30 seconds or UV two minutes.

STEP 6

Create a white and gold gradient, blending on the end of free edge. Start by applying with Brillbird Designer Gel in Gold with Brillbird Ombré Brush.

STEP 7

Repeat with Brillbird Designer Gel Cure in White. Cure for 30 seconds in LED lamp or two minutes in UV lamp.

STEP 8

Add Swarovski crystals to frame the smile line by fixing crystals to the nail surface with Brillbird Nail Art Glue. Cure in the lamp.

STEP 9

Apply Brillbird Extra Shiny Top Coat to the nail and around crystals. Do not cover the crystals. Finish by curing.
