Salon owner launches The Beautyco Club online business support community

Jayd Linney, owner of the salon chain Nailco Nail Bar, has launched The Beautyco Club – a free online business support community.
The club is based on Facebook and is for anyone who is running, or thinking about running, a business within the beauty industry. Designed to share knowledge, motivation, guidance and comfort to those on their business journey, The Beautyco Club boasts a safe, welcoming environment.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the beauty industry faced an incredibly challenging time due to longer periods out of work, uncertainty about services and limited government support. In this time, Jayd found herself relying on competitors in a way that she would have never imagined.
“I started to reach out to other businesses (some of which are direct competitors) for help, support and advice,” explains Jayd. “I think that under normal circumstances, you just wouldn’t even consider contacting your biggest competitors, telling them your fears, your problems and concerns, but it brought me more comfort than anything else. We were all in the same boat; we all had good days and bad, and we all had different ideas on how to approach things, which we were happy to share.
“I didn’t think much of it at the time, but when our business reopened, I found myself contacting them again to send support, checking in to see how they were managing and again sharing advice on things we’d encountered as we tried to navigate our way through this very abnormal ‘new normal’.
“After talking to a friend in the entertainment industry, she inspired me to create a community (or a ‘club’ as we like to call it) where this type of support and guidance is readily available for people wherever they needed it. I felt inspired by the amazing businesses I’d come to know and wanted to give something back to the entire industry – and The Beautyco Club was born!
“I felt that due to the terrible time all of our businesses had suffered, we had joined together and the barriers had broken down, the communication was flowing. I was inspired by the strong will and determination of all of these amazing people and businesses and wanted to keep it going.”
What can you expect from The Beautyco Club?
The Beautyco Club will offer something for professionals at every stage of their journey. The online community will offer technical ‘how to’s’, information on successfully creating a brand, how to scale a business and more. Daily motivational tips, activities and suggested reading/watching/listening lists will be shared, too.
Members can also expect regular live videos and Q&A’s with Jayd, as well as a range of other industry experts and professionals who will be sharing knowledge on a variety of topics – from social media to product creation.
As well as this, Jayd reveals that the club will be working with industry names to offer information and opportunities for training and development ideal for those at the very start of their journey.
