Salon in the Spotlight: You Beauty, Leeds

After working in the industry since 2013, Rachel Dobson jumped at the chance to open her salon, when space became available in November 2020.
“Since opening in December, I have already expanded when Danielle joined in April,” Rachel explains. “I plan to expand further by adding another two therapists to the team. I’m hopeful that by end of the year, I will have achieved this.”

“The salon is based within Iveridge Health Club, a wellbeing centre. All the businesses within the centre compliment one another as they all deal with elements of self care. The aim of the centre is to provide clients with all the services to promote physical and mental wellbeing.
“We offer an extensive range of treatments at You Beauty, including nails, brows, intimate waxing, lash extensions, spray tans and massages. Both myself and Danielle specialise in nails, which is the salons most popular treatment.”
“We use a wide range of well known products and brands within the salon. When it comes to nails, there is only one brand for me that hits the nail on the head and that’s The Gel Bottle,” Rachel smiles. “Their products have revolutionised the nail industry and our clients love them, especially Builder in a Bottle.
“Intimate waxing is one of our favourite services that we provide, and for that reason we use only the best hot wax, Perron Rigot. Our clients love it and it’s the best we have ever used. Our next big brand to introduce to the salon will hopefully be Elim. We can’t wait to offer our clients the best pedicures.”

“As I inherited the salon, it was already decorated when I took over, so the choice was not my own,” Rachel remembers. “Initially I considered changing it, however, we received so many positive comments I decided to keep it.
“The salon is predominantly pink and grey with touches of gold throughout, and since taking over I have added my own stamp on the place and given it a Yorkshire theme. I love the calm atmosphere it creates; it’s an instantly relaxing place. Overall I think the decor of the salon brings an air of tranquillity.”
