Salon in the Spotlight: The Lounge at Chapelton, Aberdeen

Opening in 2017, the team at The Lounge at Chapelton have worked hard to ensure the boutique salon is the beauty go-to for residents of Chapelton, near Aberdeen.
“We offer a range of hair, beauty and spa treatments for men and women,” explains co-owner, Kelly Daun. “Clients can enjoy a variety of treatments under one roof.
“We originally opened with one treatment suite, which saw a double room for couples’ treatments, and offered Elemis spa facials and massages alongside hair and beauty. We were so busy we split the one room into two separate rooms, and expanded our services to include a range of alternative therapies. We also offer advanced skin care and we have just launched Elemis Biotec.
“We offer a relaxed environment where our clients can come and spend the day with us. Whether they want to relax with a massage or facial followed by a mani-pedi or enjoy a nail treatment while their hair colour is developing. We allow longer appointment times so that you never feel rushed. We only use the best products and ensure our staff are trained to the highest standards.”
The salon offers a range of treatments, including facials, massage, acupuncture, cosmetic acupuncture, cupping, shiatsu, reflexology, dermaplaning, LED therapy, skin peels and microneedling. Nail, lash, brown and waxing treatments are also available, as well as make-up services. The team of hair stylists also offer colour, cutting, styling and extensions services.
“Within the salon we use Elemis, Kevin Murphy, L’Oréal, Nouveau, HD Brows, The Gel Bottle Inc, Peacci, MILU, Perron Rigot and Beauty Works Hair Extensions,” Kelly adds.
Echoing the emphasis on luxury, the salon’s décor is suitably suave. “We lean heavily towards a beautiful hotel lounge,” explains Kelly. “We didn’t want the salon to feel clinical or like a ‘typical’ salon. We wanted it to feel luxurious yet welcoming; somewhere you want to hang out on all day long!
“We sourced our materials from different places. We have a mix of wood and metal element and added touches such a halo ceiling with bespoke cornicing. We retro fitted most of our furniture to suit our requirements and sourced a chandelier locally. We are continuously changing and evolving the salon to make sure it stays fresh.
“The décor gives the salon a nice, relaxed vibe. We get a lot of interest in the decor from cleints and are often asked where they can buy things for their own homes!
“Our clients feel at home and can truly relax during their time with us.”
