The Beauty Barn At Heage

Originally an outbuilding on Lucy Jerrom’s family farm, this salon studio opened its doors in September 2019. “My dad, who’s a builder, and brother, who’s a joiner, renovated the building for me,” Lucy smiles. “I’ve very lucky!”

Nestled in the Derbyshire countryside, The Beauty Barn at Heage offers an idyllic settling for beauty services. “I think the location makes my salon unique,” smiles Lucy. “It’s a little bit of calm away from everybody’s hectic schedules.

“When we renovated the barn my requirements were ‘industrial but feminine, rural but cosy and to bring the outside inside’,” Lucy continues. “I wasn’t sure how we would make this all happen, but The Barn turned out exactly how I had pictured it.

“I think my decor definitely gives a calming feel to the salon. So many clients sit at my nail desk gazing out of the window across the fields and say ‘I could stay here all day’.

“It’s a really beautiful place to work and it’s so good for your mental health to have the fresh air and nature on your door step.

“I think my favourite part of my salon is my Farrow & Ball wallpaper; It adds so much warmth to the space. The most compliments from clients are on my sliding doors, but I always get asked on my social media where my pedicure sink is from!”

The future is looking bright for the barn, as Lucy plans to share her passion for the industry through a new role as an educator. “I am currently completing an AET course which will allow me to work towards being an educator for brands, hold workshops in The Barn and possibly do some teaching in a local college,” Lucy smiles.
