Decorated in on-trend shades of blush pink and deep green, Sadie Branson’s setup sees a chic workspace to greet clients. “My studio is located in my old childhood bedroom in my parent’s house,” Sadie states. “The salon certainly did not start out looking how it does now: I started off with just a table, my lamp and a small box of gel polishes while finishing my degree in Interior Design. When I graduated from university and decided to focus on nails as my full-time vocation, it was time to revamp the salon.”
Keen to create memorable salon, Sadie focused on ensuring the space was comfortable. “I wanted a space that would make new clients say ‘wow’ when they arrived,” Sadie smiles, “As well as keeping the space homely and comfortable.
“Features like the pedi station and the flower installation were mostly handmade by me and my family – they give the salon a really unique and bespoke feel.”
“The colour scheme gives the salon a clean crisp feel and fits in with my branding. I feel like I have created a space that offers a luxury salon feeling in a safe, welcoming environment that really suits one to one treatments.
The colour scheme and décor give it a calm and relaxing feeling in the salon lending perfectly to an experience that is tailored to each individual.
“I think my favourite part of the décor is my hand made wire words ‘Life’s too short for boring nails’. I feel these really are words to live by and encourage myself and my clients to push my creativity.”
Sadie sought inspiration from the great outdoors when compiling her decor. “I love spending time out on walks and in the garden,” she explains. “I have lots of plants and flowers in the salon to make it feel more connected to the outdoors.
“Nature inspires a lot of my work – my favourite designs to do are an abstract leafy style which sets a bold statement.”
Looking to the future, Sadie is keen to grow her business and expand. “I do not plan to stay at my parent’s house forever!” she laughs. “One day I can see myself with a garden salon with big open windows letting in lots of natural light – ideal for getting the perfect nail pics!”
