Salon in the Spotlight: Raisa Beauty, Nottingham

Andreea Dulgheru’s journey into the industry began from her husband encouraging her to pursue her passion in nails. After gaining her diploma in May 2020, Andreea set up her home salon when she moved house in December of the same year. “Like any beautician, I am dreaming about expanding and having my own premises, but for the moment, working from home is the best option for me.”
“I’m the only one working in my salon, but I couldn’t be more happy as I have the full support of my family,” Andreea reveals. “They know that it’s not easy to do everything from marketing, cleaning, sterilisation, orders and so much more that you don’t know before you start out in this job.
“My business has been growing month by month since I joined the Nail Business Success Club, and I couldn’t be more happy.”
“My home salon is not one where you come to have your nail done and you’re in and out of the door. My ladies are coming because they feel great here, and our appointments are filled with laughter, coffee, tea and food.
“Working from home means working in the house between customers, and there have been times where clients will leave with a plate of our traditional food, which they love,” she beams. “I have a strong relationship with my clients, and my salon is a place of cultural exchanges.”
“I am qualified in acrylic, gel and lashes, but my specialisation is gel extensions with goals for natural nail growth.
“I exclusively use products from Victoria Vynn in the salon for manicures and pedicures,” Andreea shares. “For lashes, we use London Lash, tools from Staleks and retail products from SPN Nails, as they are inspired by brand perfumes.”
“The theme in my salon is girly with white and pink tones,” she says. “I am very proud that I have built every piece of furniture and painted everything myself.
“My décor means my salon has a positive atmosphere, and is a good starting point for a chat. I also pop on a playlist to maintain the good vibes.”
