Salon in the Spotlight: PrettyPolish Nails & Beauty, Toddington

Juggling life as mobile technician with young family, Alex Bates has spent the last five years establishing her beauty business. Needing more space and a perminant location, Alex looked to a new high street location.

“We moved into our currently salon 18 months ago and the business has absolutely boomed!” smiles Alex. “I have seven amazing team members each bring something different to the team.

“My team are all aged from 60 years old to 25 and we all have such different personalities. I feel this gives us a wide variety of life experiences and skills to cater to our varied client base.

“We offer a relaxed and fun environment,” continues Alex. “There’s no pretence here we just get stuck in and have fun while doing it. We welcome every client with a cuppa and chat – and it’s often a whole salon chat!”

Offering a range of hand and nail treatments, the salon also sees pedicure, brow, waxing and lash treatments, as well as massages.

“Unlike other salons, we are nail specialists with beauty as an add on. Most of our customers come to us with damaged nails, so we focus on using our products and skills to help them grow natural healthy nails again.”

With care in every treatment, the salon also see a warm and welcoming environment. “We made the decision to keep the decor light and fresh to allow as much light in as possible,” explains Alex. “The salon has huge big glass windows so this is a feature for display regularly.

“The salon sees a shabby chic theme, so we have a lot of chalk paints and Laura Ashley design. Our clients find it relaxing and attractive.”
