Jade Miller Niche Hair Beauty Salon Sits

Established in 2012, Jade Miller took over Niche Hair & Beauty in 2016. “We relocated during the 2021 lockdown, to a ground floor premises, reopening with a new logo, new look and with a bang.”

“Niche is unique due to our diversity,” Jade reveals. “We provide a relaxed, non-uniformed atmosphere, making everyone feel at home and part of the family – a Nichette.

“We currently have four staff members, with the owner being myself. I’m also a nail technician and a Halo VIP. We have Kelly, our master stylist and barber, Nicola, a master stylist, and Rhiley, our Saturday girl.”

“With myself being a Halo VIP, I use their products. I love the quality of them and the longevity. The range of colours is amazing and they’re so nice to work with which makes my job easier.

“Kelly uses Mood Official hair products – they smell amazing and the colour paints are out of this world. She is also a very talented barber, so the salon is also inviting to men,” she notes. “Nicola specialises in L’Oreal, which still, after all this time gives amazing results and never faults. She also does Keratin Brazilian Blow Drys which not many salons offer in the area.”

“Niche will always be more than just a salon, it’s a safe place, home from a home and where the magic happens.”

“When the opportunity arose for us to move from a first floor to a ground floor property, I jumped at the chance. It gave me time to give Niche a new and fresh look, which was long overdue.

“My inspiration for the decor came from a wallpaper sample I found, which then developed the logo, which was designed by Sophie at SoGraphic design,” Jade recalls. “When the logo was confirmed, the colour scheme and the rest of the decor followed.”

“My vision became reality. I wanted lots of visual features in the salon such as textures and patterns, so that it wasn’t flat. Everything was kept totally secret, and it was lovely to see everyone’s expression on opening day!

“With now being ground floor and having big open windows, we do displays to celebrate occasions, seasonal days and events, which have become extremely popular. People come to see what’s next and seem disappointed when the windows are bare,” she laughs. “Our recent Pride month display was definitely the most talked about.”
