“I qualified as a nail technician just before lockdown in March which could be seen as bad timing, however, I ensured I made the most of my time by creating my home salon,” states Lucy White. “I wanted to create something unique and to make my clients feel they were still getting that salon experience.
“I feel so grateful for all the support I’ve been given from friends, family and the beauty industry online. It gave me the boost I needed to make my new home salon a success. I would love for one day to be able to have a bigger salon or outdoor cabin of my own; it’s one of my goals for the future.”
The floral feature wall in the new salon is a talking point. “Clients have commented on my salon set up and they all absolutely love my flower wall, which was custom-made for me,” smiles Lucy. “I want every client to feel welcome in my salon. They can relax and enjoy a pamper whilst they are here.
“I have a little Shih Tzu, who loves to greet my clients as they enter and then will patiently wait for their treatment to be done before asking for a belly rub before they leave!
“My theme is most definitely quite girly. Pink, flowers and gold would be my main colour scheme and theme throughout. I wanted something still bright and cheerful to make people feel the same way when they walk into the salon.
“I think the decor has a big influence; a lot of clients have come to me because they’ve seen my set up. Clients love getting their nalfies against my flower wall and taking snaps while they are here. I feel it’s important as I want them to enjoy the time they are here for their appointment. It makes me happy seeing my clients happy.”
