Maci Parry began her nail journey in April 2020, and the 18-year-old opened her salon in July of the same year.
“It has been tough journey to say the least. I felt that every time I was building up a clientele and getting into the groove of things I was hit with another lockdown,” Maci remembers. “It was pretty demoralising, but over time as the situation with the coronavirus progresses, I am more excited each day for my nail career!”
“My salon has been described as the ultimate Instagrammable aesthetic. As soon as you walk in, you are hit with a pink overload – after all, pink makes the world go round,” she smiles. “The salon also has a designer flower wall and gold accents. I adore seeing the ‘wow’ look on my clients faces when they walk in.
“My salon was mostly a DIY project. I learned to get creative and definitely had to perfect patience – I hand cut the Louis Vuitton flower wall.”
“That is what getting your nails is all about – getting lost in a world of creativity, relaxation and enjoyment!”
“Currently it’s just me offering hand painted nail art and extensions, and my recent addition of tooth gems. My main speciality is nail art,” Maci explains. “Coming straight out of A-level art, I adapted my skills to create tiny nail masterpieces, mostly using brands such as Glossify and The Gel Bottle.”
“I am definitely looking to expand with more beauty specialists, and offer a wider range of services. I am a girl who loves to dream and I have no doubt you will see ‘Maci Blanche Nails’ as a beauty chain across towns in the UK – we all have to start somewhere!
“Being only 18, I am content these plans will fall into place eventually, but at the moment I’m happy perfecting my craft and growing as a business and becoming a woman boss.”
“In the last year, I have gained over 6,000 followers on Instagram and 25,000 on TikTok. If I can do it, so can you. Give your craft time to nourish and believe in it, and you’ll already be halfway there.”
