Salon in the Spotlight: Luscious Nails & Beauty, West Dunbartonshire, Scotland

Looking to create a balance between family life and a busy business, Lynne Scott sought a solution close to home – converting her garage into a studio for her nail services.
“With a young family, I feel it has been a great move to allow me to work my diary around them,” Lynne explains.
“The garage is attached to my house,” Lynne continues. “It wasn’t easy as there was a lot of standards to meet for the local council to allow the project to go ahead. However, we got there in the end! I was very lucky to have help from my husband and dad.
“It’s been a brilliant move for my business. Through social media and word of mouth, I don’t have enough hours in the day for the clients I have!”
Offering a varied treatment menu, Lynne offers gel polish and L&P acrylic enhancement services, alongside lash lifts and henna brows. Both waxing and spray tan services are also on offer. “I find that my nail services are my most popular treatments, closely followed by lash lifts,” Lynne explains.
“I feel my salon is unique as it is based in a private residential housing estate and I work alone. A lot of my clients say they love it as it feels private: there is no one else there listening to their conversation. It’s almost like a therapy session.
“Also, clients can park right outside my house – they can run out to their cars in their pyjama after having their spray tan done without the fear of being seen!”
Offering privacy and professionalism, the salon setup sees a clean and minimalist décor. “I wanted my salon to have a clean look but with a high quality feel,” Lynne explains.
“As I chose the name ‘Luscious’ for my salon, I wanted to send the message that clients will receive a high-end experience. I always take time and try to go the extra mile for my clients, which I think is appreciated.
“I think the decor makes my clients feel that they are in a fresh, clean salon and that they will receive the best possible service.”
