Setting up to create a better work and life balance as a new mum, Leah Slater moved her beauty business back home. “While I was on maternity leave, I decided to embark on the adventure of building an extension for my home salon,” smiles Leah.
“Now the space has a modern, luxurious feel; somewhere clients feel comfortable and at home. It offers an intimate and relaxed atmosphere where I hope my clients feels valued, and not just a number.”
This care for the client extends to Leah’s working attitudes. “I pride myself on using the best products, tools and training to maintain the health of the clients’ nails, brows and lashes,” she explains. “I love to make sure I’m up to date on the latest training and techniques and sharing knowledge about all the treatments I offer.
“My decor is based on the tiles,” Leah continues. “I knew I wanted them in my salon! The décor came from wanting a bright, clean and crisp space.
“I love natural products and materials, which age and change colour over time. This saw me select a copper nail table and wooden shelves and countertops. I want the salon décor to evolve naturally over time.”
