Hr Beauty Salon In The Spotlight

Halo VIP, Holly Rodgers, shares how she transformed her garage into sophisticated salon space, Hr Beauty, and the ways she creates a positive client experience…

Holly Rodgers tells Scratch that she has always had a passion for the beauty industry, so upon qualifying in 2020 and converting her garage to a salon space, the pro was eager to welcome clients into Hr Beauty. But then the first Covid lockdown hit. “The salon opening was delayed, so I decided to further my knowledge online and via beauty books,” she reveals. “Once lockdown was lifted, I got straight to work, buying furniture, painting the space and installing cupboards and shelves to create a cosy environment for myself and clients.

“Although Hr Beauty is small, its classy and elegant design is intended to make clients feel welcome, relaxed and pampered. It is professional, while still reflecting my personality,” Holly shares. “For example, the salon features fashion books to keep guests entertained and printed nail quotes to encourage clients to take care of their nails. I’m based in the small village of Morton, which is a great location, as it’s close to town while being out of the way. I want my clients to feel at home when they visit me; sometimes the appointments are their only time for privacy and relaxation.”

Holly offers a variety of nail treatments, including manicures and pedicures, gel polish and builder gel services, nail extensions and bronze, silver and gold nail art tiers, alongside brow treatments. “I love to use Halo from Pure Nails, as the gel polishes are highly pigmented and there is a huge range of essentials to choose from, including tools and nail art products.”

Holly’s favourite aspect of Hr Beauty is a nail art display board, which she updates with hand-painted styles on nail tips to help clients decide on design aspects. Looking to the future, the pro’s goal is to employ ‘strong, independent beauticians who love what they do as much as I do’, so that she can offer a large selection of luxurious treatments.
