Having evolved her business from a fold-up table in her dining room, Leeanne Andrews has found success in the world of nails. “I was previously a graphic designer, but I was bored of looking at a computer screen all day,” Leeanne explains. “I wanted to retrain in something that still allowed me to show my creative side but choose my own hours around my three small children.”
Using her time in lockdown to complete a garage conversion, Leeanne now has the perfect space for her new venture. “It is so nice to have a designated room away from the rest of the house,” she smiles. “I think what makes my set-up unique is I’m offering the feel of a luxury salon but on a personal one to one basis.
“Everyone who visits comments on how calm and relaxing it is. That was my aim I when creating the space; I wanted to create a place for my clients to come and unwind for a few hours.”
The salon set-up sees a chic interior that was designed as a point of difference. “I tried really hard to create something unique,” she smiles. “I really love classic interiors but with a modern twist.
“I chose panelling and window framing, which are quite traditional elements, but then I selected the bold, black wall paint.
“I’ve also added colour through the decor pieces and incorporated materials like velvet and polished gold for a high-end feel. The herringbone flooring gives the room some warmth, too.
“I absolutely love the sofa area; I sit and relax there with a coffee in between clients.”
