Jemma King and Rebekah Lockett are two sisters who decided to open up their own nail salon.
“We opened our salon in our town centre of Douglas. We both nail technicians who have always dreamed of one day having our very own salon and finally, our dreams have come true, after many years in the business.”
“Just the two of us work in the salon. People often ask – with us being sisters – how we work so well together, but we couldn’t imagine doing this with anyone else by our side.
“We specialise in Acrylic Nails, Gel Polish Manicures and Builder Gel,” they explain. “We use Glitterbels Acrylic system, it’s our holy grail! We use three brands of gel polish – Make Me Amazing, Halo Gel Polish and Nails By Gel Polish.”
“We are a small but chic salon, and we only offer nail treatments,” the sisters enthuse. “Some of our clients have been with us for many years.
“We like to offer a listening ear if someone needs a chat, or just somewhere to sit and relax whilst being pampered.”
“We feel that us being sisters helps to give a homely and relaxed feel, whilst remaining extremely professional.”
“When we were planning the décor of the salon, we wanted it to be classic, fresh and clean with black and neutral tones,” the pair reveal. “Black panelled wall and herringbone flooring were the key staples, then everything just fell into place.
“We added elements of green for a splash of colour. Luckily, when planning the salon, we had the exact same ideas in mind!”
“We feel that our salon gives you a sense of luxury as you walk in, with the simple yet elegant décor.
“We hope clients come in feeling like they know they are going to be leaving with beautiful nails,” they smile. “Our aim is to make clients leave feeling as amazing as their nails look.”
