Part-time dental nurse, Rebecca Louise Evans, wanted to utilise her passion for beauty and her creativity, so opted to train as a nail tech.
“I took a course with The GelBottle in February 2020 just before the first lockdown, kicking off my nail journey.”
“It was always my dream to have a home salon,” Rebecca reminisces. “After having a baby in January, I was finally able to put a little bit of time here and there into creating my studio.
“I started doing my family and friends nails on a mobile basis and have now been able to transition into my own salon. I hope to expand my salon in the future to make more space in order to fulfil my dream of training others in gel polish application. I would love to offer 1-to-1 and workshops!”
“I work alone in the salon and I love that this gives me a more personal relationship my clients.
“My salon is a small but professional home studio overlooking our garden with its own easily accessible entrance and client restroom,” she reveals. “I love being able to give my clients a relaxed experience and work together to create some exciting nail art designs just for them. I also make resin and clay jewellery and gifts which I showcase in the salon.”
“I love that my salon is small but not without its fun little quirks!”
“I offer manicures, gel and builder gel nail treatments but my main speciality is intricate nail art designs,” Rebecca explains. “I will also be offering extensions in the next few months.
“I use gel polish from The GelBottle which I absolutely love, Navy Professional for my salon hygiene, NAF! Stuff cuticle oils and also use a lot of natural essential oils by Neom for my diffuser.”
“For the décor, I wanted something fresh and classy that would keep up with the ever changing trends.
“I opted for white walls, accents of beige and then added colour with plants, cushions and other accessories,” she smiles. “I love that accessories can be changed over time to completely change the look for each season.”
“The room already had a butlers sink fitted which makes an attractive feature and lovely hand washing area. I would say the theme is neutral and cosy.
“I wanted the salon to be a calming, cosy space for clients to feel relaxed and pampered, while I get to work creating exciting and funky nail designs for them,” Rebecca beams. “I think the décor influences this calm feel and the little colour pops and accessories show that there is another more outgoing and bold side to my little business.”
