Salon in the Spotlight: Ever Pretty Beauty Studio, Wakefield

Living up to its name, this new studio is the result of a mother-daughter duo pursuing a balanced work and home life. Opening in July this year, Shelby Holmes and Amanda Welbourn had a lightbulb moment after a house move. “We have worked together for many years in various locations and salons,” reveals Shelby Homles. “I started as an apprentice for my mum, Amanda, when I was 16. After moving house a couple of years ago we had the amazing idea to convert our garage into a studio so that we could reduce overheads. With the economy for small business’ it seemed like the best direction to go in so we could have a happy lifestyle as well. This July saw the studio open. Thankfully, we knew our loyal client base would follow us to our home setting.”
With is intimate environment, the salon is stylish and modern. “Our salon has a very personal feel to it,” Shelby continues. “We are very proud of and clients are commenting all the time on how pretty it looks.
“We wanted our salon to be Instagram and Pinterest-worthy!”
“We wanted clients to walk in and be amazed and instantly describe it as ‘pretty’ hence why we chose our name. We’ve chosen pink, grey and gold as our colour scheme as it’s really on trend at the moment.
“Our decor is influencing our salon massively! It’s giving our clients a welcoming first impression and it represents our personalities and branding perfectly: feminine, unique and pretty. By posting pictures of the decor on our social media we’re attracting more and more new clients, too.”
Ever Pretty Beauty Studio offers a varied nail treatment menu, indulging clients with CND Shellac™ and The Gel Bottle Inc overlays and enhancement. “A few years ago we also trained with Andy Rouillards, Axiom Academy and therefore specialise in offering female intimate waxing using hot wax,” Shelby adds. “Not many salons in our area use purely hot wax so we pride ourselves on offering a meticulous wax in a comfortable setting. We have also introduced Footlogix pedicures and we are seeing amazing results.
“Our treatment list isn’t huge, but every treatment we offer is done to a very high quality and we aim for amazing customer feedback at all times. Being mother and daughter, we have a very close working relationship. I was trained by my mum, so we work in a very similar manor to a very high standard. There’s no slacking at work as we’re very open to telling each other off if needed!”
