Salon in the Spotlight: Enchanted Jems, South Ockendon, Essex

Being new to the industry hasn’t stopped Jemma Gregory from pursing her dreams. “I started Enchanted Jems last year after completing my training with CND™ education ambassador, Justine Crick. I always had a passion for nails and being a full time mum I wanted a job I could fit around my children.”

Needing a space for her new business, Jemma’s partner built her own cabin in the garden. Sitting pride if place is Jemma’s nail desk. “My partner also built me my desk; it’s exactly how I wanted it! The table makes my salon different. It gives it a magical feel and I believe nail techs make magic happen! It gives a positive but relaxed atmosphere.

“Overall, I chose a modern but magical interior. Everyone who know me knows that I am obsessed with unicorns and anything that sparkles! I wanted the salon to reflect me as a person too. The decor just gives such a relaxed atmosphere, everyone automatically feels at ease and falls in love with my table.”

Specialising in nail treatment, Jemma uses CND™ systems, including CND Shellac™, as well as Candy Coat, INK London range and a huge selection glitter, including Lecenté. “I currently offer waxing, alongside manicures and pedicures, but I’m looking to expand my services to eyelashes, massage and tanning also. I love creating beautiful nails and dreaming up new ideas.

“I feel that I have created a salon space that clients can come to, sit back and relax, or chat and watch tv. I try to make the experience as relaxed and comfortable as possible; as a sufferer of anxiety I know how important that is.”
