After previously working as a mobile beautician, Danielle Bridges decided it was time to open up her own salon during the first Coronavirus lockdown.

“I found it hard lugging all my equipment around so I decided to take the plunge. I couldn’t find anything suitable around my area, so I decided to build my own in my garden,” she explains. “My cabin took 8 weeks to build and complete. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made. I wake up and walk out into my garden to work – what more could you want? It works well around my two girls too, which helps a lot.”

“Since opening my cabin I have welcomed new clients. Being in 1 place means that I can be more creative with my time and have a wider client base. It’s just myself working in my cabin, but if in time I feel like I need help, then I will definitely employ someone.

“I offer a wide range of treatments, including gel manicures, pedicures, waxing treatments, and lashes,” Danielle describes. “I would say I specialise in nails and definitely nail art – all my clients are obsessed with nail art, and most let me be as creative as I want which I love! I use The Gel Bottle, which is my favourite brand ever.

“My salon is unique because it’s the only one in my village… And the only one in a garden!” Danielle laughs. “As it’s one-to-one treatments, I have made such a great bond with all of my loyal clients. They have all been so excited to see my cabin which means the world to me.

“I have an online booking system to make life easier for me and my clients. I offer loyalty cards with 25% discounts, and run competitions on my social media now and again.”

“I’ve made some lifelong friends with clients. Seeing them smile and feel better about themselves from doing something I love honestly is the best feeling.”

“The decor is fresh and current, with an outside feel. I have lots of plants and flowers. I made my flower wall myself and personalised it with my brand name,” she smiles. “I am loving all of the pinks, greens and golds as I think it’s very classy.

“I wanted a modern look, but something that was sophisticated, soft and subtle too. I’m loving all the WOW faces coming from my clients. I’m currently having an area on the other side of my work place where I can offer refreshments to clients while having treatments.
