Salon in the Spotlight: Chi Anmo Beauty Rooms, Aberdeenshire

Starting out as a home salon, Melanie Simpson found her beauty business go from strength to strength. “In April 2018, Chi Anmo relocated to a stunning new salon in Westhill to ensure we could accommodate the rapidly increasing number of clients looking for a local, reliable and meticulous service,” enthuses Melanie.
“Chi Anmo translate to ‘soul massage’ and our aim is for our clients to leave our salon feeling re-newed, relaxed and glowing from the inside out. We are the only beauty rooms in the town of Westhill offering clients a one stop shop for treatments and retail. It’s also fun! We want our clients to enjoy the experience when they come to visit us.”
Joined by Hazel Ross, Lindsay Wright and Kerry Munro, together the team ensure the salon offers a varied treatment menu. “We offer HD Brows and LVL Lash treatments, facials, unisex waxing, threading and spray tans,” explains Melanie. “We also offer hand and foot nail service and nail art.”
Chi Anmo sees a chic interior, appealing to all. “We chose dark unisex colours as we want men to also feel comfortable coming to the salon,” states Melanie. “We mixed this palette with velour and velvets to make it feel plush and inviting.
“The decor influences our salon by making it feel homely and suitable for all. We wanted to avoid the clinical feeling you can get with too much white in a salon.”
