Candice Muddeman began Candymani’s in 2015, working out of her dining room at home, offering gel polish to family and friends.

“Last year in lockdown, we started work on a separate nail and beauty studio at the back of our house. We were lucky to have such a generous space, but it needed a lot of work. My husband and some great local tradespeople were involved in making my dream space a reality.”

“I work alone – I love that I am involved in every aspect from ordering products, marketing and delivering the treatments myself. It’s truly liberating to call all the shots work-wise!

“I specialise in gel nails which were my first passion, and I have taken extra courses in nail art as I love the opportunity to be creative. I also offer henna brows, facial waxing, lash lifts and tinting. For special occasion instant glam, I offer express party lashes, spray tans, Tropic skincare facials and makeup on request,” she explains. My go to gel polishes are GELLUX, Halo and Premier Gel. I use So Henna brow products and Crazy Angel spray tanning systems.”

“I think the huge space I have is amazing and enables me to offer extra treatments like spray tanning, and for clients to come as a group for birthdays and hen parties,” Candice smiles. “I have also pampered little ones for special birthday parties – my daughter is 8, so she is definitely keen to invite friends over.

“The roof light we installed lets an incredible amount of light in, it feels very bright and modern in the salon and I hope all the natural light and space makes clients feel energised and rejuvenated.”

“I knew I wanted something bright and fresh. The Tiffany blue inspired accents really pop against the primarily white decor. Clients love my monochrome salon prints too, which add personality and fun to the space,” she reveals. “I always shop around though, my brow station trolley was from Hobby Craft for example, my couch cover from Argos!

“I am often described as a warm and bubbly person and I hope my bright colour scheme and cute touches, such as the fluffy cushions and mirrored radiator, offer a warm and friendly vibe for my clients. I have a wide range of ladies from teens to more mature clients, and pride myself on being chatty and sensitive to all their requirements.”

“I love what I do and am so excited for this next chapter in my new professional space.”
