Salon in the Spotlight: Beautifix, Ringmer

Having worked solo in a home salon, Penny Smith took the next step by opening her first salon in her home village of Ringmer.
“We opened our the Beautifix salon this January,” smiles Penny. “I am hoping to build the business up further and eventually I would love a second salon.”
With a team of three, plus the salon’s mascot, British bulldog Delilah, the salon offers a varied treatment menu. “We specialise in all things nails but we offer many other treatments such as spray tans, microblading, lash lifts, eyelash extensions, waxing, tinting, makeup and many more,” Penny explains. “We use a variety of products, but for nails our favourite brands are The Gel Bottle Inc and OPI.”
Bright and bold in shades of pink, the salon makes a statement with its décor. “The salon pink inside and out,” smiles Penny. “The space also sees floral, rose gold and marble touches. The decor makes us stand out.
“The theme in the salon is very much all things pink! My favourite colour has always been pink: I even have a bright pink car. The flower wall in our nail area is definitely a showstopper.
“The decor has influenced are salon in many ways. I’ve found it has brought in many new clients of different ages as it stands out from the other businesses around. We now find a lot of people choose to have pink nails!”
