Salon Chat duo reveals nail tech notebook

The team behind Salon Chat has revealed a notebook planner specially designed for nail professionals to aid with both business and social media activities.

Created by Kelly Colley of Lavish Nails, Cheshunt and Isabel Porter of The Beauty Garage, Buckinghamshire, the Salon Chat Nail Bible is a 316 page wire bound book which sees a variety of sections carefully selected based on research conducted via their Salon Chat live streams.

Salon Chat came about as Kelly and Isabel wanted to come together during lockdown to deliver a relaxed & fun community chat four days a week.

“We started hosting lives together before we went into lockdown just to find out if people were closing,” Kelly & Isabel explain. “Salon Chat grew and grew! We started doing free tutorials, Tech Time Tuesdays, quizzes and games – and we quickly realised how useful it would be to have a salon notebook specific to the nail world.

“We started working on it straight away. Hosting Salon Chat helped us to work out exactly what the notebook needed.”

The notebook features a social media section, which allows you to note down your favourite accounts, as well as Follow Friday pages to jot down who has inspired you recently. The notebook sees a salon section to help keep track of client notes too.

“We have a Design Ideas section, where you can draw your own nail designs,” the pair reveal. “We also have a few pages to help keep track of what’s trending in the nail world, as well as shopping lists and a notes section.

“Finally, we have the goals section, where you’ll find workshop pages and training pages where you can keep all your notes in one section.”

When the pair were designing the notebook, they were keen to include and cater to the many roles in the industry. “We didn’t want to restrict the notebook to sole traders, so tried to ensure it appealed to salon owners too. We included shopping list pages and supplier pages, so team members can write down what’s running low.

“When you need to restock, everything is all in one place including the supplier details to order to save time.”

The notebook was design to offer beauty business owners a single, handy place to keep information together. “We believe having all this information in one place for reference will be important for business owners,” smiles the duo.
