Paris Fashion Week SS25: The 5 nail trends to note
By Lilly Delmage | 06 October 2024 | Events, Feature
Paris Fashion Week SS25 welcomed an impressive range of designers and stylists, who brought creative visions to life on the runways. From set design, clothes, hair and make-up, right down to models’ fingertips, each creative element was carefully curated to fit the inspiration behind each collection.
Here are 5 standout nail looks to note…
1. Hidden pearls
Celeb nail tech, Sylvie Macmillan, created ‘soft, serene pearl surprise’ nails to complement the elegance of the Mugler SS25 show. The manicure featured pearls peeking out from underneath nails, with some models sporting transparent enhancements, and others with black overlay and a matte or high-shine finish.
2. Chipped nails
Have you been looking at your chipped nail polish thinking ‘I really need to redo that?’ Well, your look may be on trend! NYC-based nail artist, Mei Kawajiri, painted models’ nails and toenails in a pale pink shade for the Miu Miu SS25 show, achieving the ‘chipped’ look by removing some areas of colour with acetone.
3. Matte manicure
Sammy MacDonald led the nail team for the Victoria Beckham show, sponsored by OPI, collaborating with the A-list designer to plan and curate a ‘clean matte look’ for models’ nails.
4. Barely there
Ama Quashie led nails for the Loewe Paris Fashion Week SS25 show, creating this high-shine, subtle manicure for models, portraying a ‘natural but better’ finish.

5. Rich chocolate
Session manicurist, Ama Quashie, also led nails for Alexander McQueen SS25, using a deep-brown shade for some models, the idyllic versatile hue.

Sammy MacDonald also opted for a rich brown hue for the pedicures for the Victoria Beckham show. She explains the thought process behind this creative decision: “We decided that having all fingers and toes in a dark shade may be too overpowering. So, we saved the warm brown shade Purrrride from the OPI My Me Era Collection for toes only.”
