“Make sure you have a good case to store your products upright and neatly for easy access,” advises Rachel Gribble, Salon System educator. “Packing things the same way makes it easier when packing up after a treatment. Plus, it also helps to keep your kit neat. There are lots of good cases available; they come in a variety of shapes and sizes to suit individual needs.
“Keep all bottles and pots upright or your kit bag; it will end up a mess otherwise! I also line my compartments with a thin plastic, which is easier to clean. Make sure all lids are secure and all bottles or pots are clean before being packed away, too. Regularly clean your kit and equipment with antiseptic and antibacterial cleaner. Do not use acetone as this could damage plastics or materials.
“Don’t forget your service sundries and necessities! Consider bringing:
- Cuticle tools – I love using Salon System’s Cuticle Clipper
- Hand lotion
- Cuticle oil, like Naillux Cuticle Oil
- Nail files
- Brushes and tools
- Steriliser and antiseptic sprays – such as Naillux Hand Sanitiser
- Towels, tissues and nail wipes
“Every month or so, go through your kit to give it a good clean and tidy up. This is also a good time to check out your stock levels too, and do any re-ordering.”
