Swindon based nail and beauty salon Honestly Ombré scooped the Scratch Stars Nail & Beauty Salon of the Year Award at the Scratch Stars Party 20/21, due to their passion of vegan, ethical, and cruelty free nails and beauty.
Jess Wallbridge, founder of Honestly Ombré, tells us: “Honestly Ombré has always been a little different, and that can sometimes make you doubt whether you’re doing the right thing.
“When we opened, I had a comment about whether there was ‘a need or room for a vegan salon in Swindon’, and so we put up posters in our window that said, ‘Not another beauty salon’, because we wanted to show we were different, and that we provide a more ethical, cruelty free way of doing beauty.”
It has been a dream for Jess and the team to be recognised at the Scratch Stars Awards. “Scratch is such a prestigious publication for our industry, and I have been a Shooting Star Finalist twice, but this was the first time the salon and our team decided to enter!”
Jess was dumbfounded when Honestly Ombré was announced as the winner. “We were up against such incredible and established businesses, and I just couldn’t believe our name was called. It’s a moment I will always remember, and I’m so proud of our team.”
A remarkable achievement, particularly since Jess only started training in nails in 2017, and then opened Honestly Ombré in November 2018.
In celebration, the team excitedly decided to renovate the salon and spent a few weeks doing some intensive work on the space. “Our trophy also sits proudly in our salon as a reminder of what we all achieved together.
The Honestly Ombré team has a jam-packed schedule coming up; the calendar has been fully booked since April 2021, and the team is booked up six weeks in advance.
“We have a range of wellness workshops and community events planned, retail products are launching, and we’re always focusing on delivering the Honestly Ombré service we’re known for,” Jess smiles.
