I trained in a beauty academy in Drogheda County Louth. I trained in acrylic and gel enhancements, gel polish and fibreglass. After college, I continued to do add on courses. I did a 3D acrylic nail art workshop with Asu Nail and Beauty Supplies.

I moved to Australia not long after college and started working in Glamour Nail Bar in Perth, where we had continuous training in nail art and acrylic techniques. When I returned home, I did a nail art workshop with the amazing Sarah Elmaz.

There are so many amazing nail artists I admire in the industry, but my favourite at the moment has to be Nail Fashion by Jenny, she definitely creates my style of nails, but she always takes it a step further. I love seeing her work and she is so lovely.

The highlight of my career so far is starting out on my own, my parents were so good to let me open my salon in the conservatory of their house and I’ve been self employed and working there since 2017.

“I love growing my little business every day and hope to be even bigger and better in the years to come.”

The one piece of advice that changed my career is to stop being so hard on myself. We all start somewhere and have to learn from mistakes and flaws, although I do think being hard on myself has made me a better nail technician.

My most eventful career story is working in Glamour Nail Bar in Australia, I had so many great opportunities from doing fashion show nails, photo shoot nails, ladies race day nails… And our salon welcomed a few celebrities also, which was exciting.

My next career step is definitely to become an educator, I would love to pass on my knowledge to those starting out and to already qualified nail techs looking for tips and tricks that I’ve picked up over the years.
