Carrie Bohan of Nails by Carrie sits down with Scratch to talk about her love for natural nail transformations and the importance of posting regularly on Instagram…
“I love natural nail transformations and restoring peoples confidence in their nails,” Carrie reveals. “I am a builder gel only tech, so my favourite thing is going back and showing people their before and after pictures.
“It makes me so happy to see how pleased people are with their nails and nail journey.”
“I really admire Amy Guy because of how motivating she is and for her bringing so many people together with The Nail Tech Org.
“I also really like Morg Atlanta for speaking up and spreading awareness about problems in the industry,” she notes. “She shares a lot of really helpful info that can be really informative, especially for beginner techs.”
“My favourite nail designs to create are definitely butterflies.
“I just think they are so pretty and delicate,” Carrie enthuses. Zebra print is a close second, although I’m also having a funky French tip phase and I want to do them in every single colour.”
“A lot of my inspiration is from peoples clothes and outfits on Instagram.
“It’s a bit weird, but I like to look at peoples outfits that they’ve posted,” she laughs. “I look at them and think about what nails would go well with what they’re wearing.
“Using Instagram for inspo makes me pick up colours I wouldn’t usually have chosen.”
“The best thing I was ever told was to stay consistent with my Instagram,” Carrie explains. “I make sure I post every single day.”
“I think if I didn’t post so regularly, I wouldn’t be where I am now.”
“The highlight of my career was being able to quit my full time job five months after starting my business.
“I was so scared to do it, but I don’t regret it at all,” she beams. “I haven’t looked back since and I am so much happier now.”
“I’m really happy with where I am so anything else that happens in the future is a bonus,” Carrie says. “I would really love to teach nail art classes one day though.
“I think that branching into education would be really fun.”
