Nail Tech Talk: Abbie-Lea Elliott of Able Nails

Cardiff-based tech, Abbie-Lea Elliott, completed her training in March of 2021, dedicating her time throughout lockdown to practise.
“I trained on the first course that opened up after Covid, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made,” Abbie smiles.
“I love anything weird and wonderful when it comes to nail designs,” Abbie enthuses. “I’m an absolute sucker for a French tip, and I really want to experiment with more 3D designs, as I think that is such an exciting trend we’re seeing at the moment!
“My favourite products have got to be the Nail order Xtentions, they’re the easiest system I’ve ever used and give you the perfect set every time… It’s fool proof! I also love my HONA liner brush.”
“I find inspiration for my nail designs everywhere,” she says. “I get a lot of my inspiration from social media like Instagram and Pinterest, but also things like clothing and even food.
“Being chosen as a brand ambassador for Nail Order and being featured in Scratch Magazine are two big career highlights for me.”
“I would love to teach people how to do nails. I’d also love doing 1-1 sessions with experienced techs, just to help them build confidence.
“I also want to hit a bajillion followers,” Abbie laughs.
“There’s nothing like watching someone flourish after you’ve given them some confidence.”
“I love the nail community,” she beams. “I’ve found friends for life through this job, everyone is so supportive and encouraging.
“There’s nothing quite like the nail industry and its community.”
