Shropshire based nail tech, Rosemarie Jones, has been utilising lockdown to exercise her creativity and raise funds for the Women’s Equality Party & NHS Charities.
The keen artist, who has been working as a tech for six years and has experience in graphic design, has been creating illustrations of friends, family and pets which are being sold on her online store. However, an idea has seen her turn her hand to illustrations of hands and nails.
The ‘Equality in Beauty’ collection is a series of seven prints of hands, each with a different skin tone and nail shade. Each illustration has been digitally hand-drawn by Rosemarie using her laptop track pad, and the prints are available to purchase in packs of 1, 3, 5 or 7. All profits are being split between Women’s Equality Party & NHS Charities.
“During lockdown, I’ve kept myself busy by reliving my love for graphic design,” Rosemarie comments. “I think that keeping this creativity alive during this time is very important for our mental health.
“I’m sure that many can relate to the feeling of anxiety regarding the coronavirus pandemic and when we can return to work. Being able to put my mind to something in the meantime has been a great distraction.”
The Equality in Beauty collection stemmed from discussions amongst Rosemarie and her nail tech friends. “We wanted to promote the idea that everybody matters, and we are all perfect in our own way,” she continues.
