Thinking of entering The Scratch Stars Awards? Anastasiia Morozova shares her story to inspire and encourage…
My students very often ask me how to become an international nail educator. The secret is very simple: nail competitions!
My career began as an nail technician, taking customers at home and in the salon. But I always had goal – to show myself and my talent to world. I dreamt of big rooms full of students, and myself as the educator. Dreams come true, but you need to ask yourself first what is your goal in this job.
If you want to grow, teach, improve your skills and seek fame, the key in our industry is competitions. When you take part, you open your potential; you become more self-confident and show yourself as a leader.
Yes, you may need to take different training and course for the competitions. It costs time and money, but if you will follow your dreams it will give you a results. All these steps lead to success.
I remember how my first competition was a complete failure – I was disqualified! I was a novice, I was very worried and forgot about one main point in the rules. I was not upset after my defeat, it gave me a great lesson in my championships.
Competitions helps us to work on ours mistakes, learn new techniques, work well and quickly, and, of course, make new friends!
Here are my tips:
- Know the rules well
- Practice a lot before the competition
- Control your application by category time
- Always set up your working area before the start
- Be sure that your model will follow you and will be not moving during the application
- Never worry on a competition area
- Be focus on the steps, don’t think about something else like other competitors or other work, if judges will like your work or not
- Do your best!
