Missy Dunning on finding self confidence and her love of Pure Nails

How did you get into the nail industry?
I’ve always had an interest in the beauty industry but lacked the confidence when I was younger to pursue it. However, in recent years I found myself working in the education sector and mentoring young people to find their passion and pursue it… I guess I finally heard what I was preaching! I then began my nail journey with Solis Nail & Beauty and the rest is history.
If you weren’t doing nails, what you would be doing?
I’ve tried and tested many career paths and I can wholeheartedly say that I’ve found my calling, so unless being a pop star ever becomes a realistic opportunity, I’m staying put!
What product can you not live without?
The whole Pure Nails Halo range: from files to prep and scrub, the ever-growing array of gel polish colours and effects including the various finishing topcoats – not forgetting Easibuild! Halo is the best gel polish I’ve worked with and I cannot recommend it enough. All of the colours are gorgeous, it has long-lasting shine and great durability. My clients easily get 2-3 weeks wear time, if not longer, and it’s a great consistency for nail art as well. As soon as I discovered it, I bought the whole range!
If you had to pick one, what nail colour would characterise your personality?
I would be teal because, to me, this colour is warm, strong, appealing and has a sense of energy about it, almost magical. Teal is me on the days when I’m the best version of myself.
