London salon owner, Tinu Bello, recently opened her second location for her brand Colour Riot Nails in the vibrant district of Shoreditch, going her existing location in Fitzrovia. Here, Tinu talks about her experiences…
“Competition? Yes, London has some amazing nail salons, and we welcome a bit of healthy competition – but there is more than enough business for us all. I love that I can express my creativity through nails. I love that nails have brought out the entrepreneur in me and elevated my love for the beauty industry.
“Running a successful salon chain takes hard work, dedication and most of all passion teamed up with good planning and prioritising. Teamwork and management is also imperative along with good customer service.
“I decided to open a second location for my salon chain, Colour Riot Nails, in East London after visiting the area and falling in love with it. I truly felt the area suited the creative side of the brand. I fell in love with the street art and the vibe of the whole community. The fact the salon is centrally located and accessible also aided the decision. We’re open seven days a week, with Sunday actually being our busiest day. There is so much to do and business open around here on the weekend – from food stalls, galleries to shops.
“Shoreditch is very bright and full of creativity. We are in the heart of street art, food stalls and artistic people from all walks of life. Shoreditch is a very vibrant community which resemble all aspects of our brand.
“We have an upbeat ambiance. We always have the hottest playlist paying in the background while we gossip and laugh with our clients. I would say it’s a nail chill spot, we encourage our clients to come and chill with us while we create magic on their nails.”
