We caught up with Libby Barthuly, of Fingerbang, Portland, USA, about her favourite designs to create and the nail team at Fingerbang

What is your all-time favourite nail product?

I love anything that glitters; mylar, foils, gems and charms. I want these nails to blind you from across the room.

Who do you admire in the industry?

All my coworkers at Fingerbang but Alec Cole Hinz has really gone above and beyond for me in my new career. He is my nail guardian angel. Admire is an understatement.

What designs do you love to create?

I’m really enjoying cartooning and lettering lately, especially nails with bad words on them, after all everyone loves a curse word.

What treatment or nail technique are you planning to add to your services?

I’m going to be studying under Asa Bree to learn structure gel next! Extensions are really where my heart is happiest so I want to expand on that as much as I can.

What are your next steps?
I would really love to travel and do nails. Maybe a guest spot in Australia or the UK – who knows!

What is the most exciting thing about the UK nail industry?

I’m really living for The Gel Bottle Inc. Its polishes are so good and the colours are on trend.

If you weren’t doing nails, what would you be doing?

Touring with my band Bridge City Sinners full time. Right now, I’m touring part time, but music is my other real passion.
