Essex-based nail technician and educator, Kayley Cairns, was awarded the Nail Professional of the Year title at the Professional Beauty Awards 2019.
Held at The Brewery in London on Sunday 24 February, the awards saw 11 categories spanning beauty, spa and business. The black-tie ceremony kicked off with a Champagne reception and saw entertainment from stand-up comedian Tom Allen.
Kayley’s success followed a great day in the competition arena, as she entered multiple categories in the Nail Championships at Professional Beauty London. She achieved 3rd place in Salon Nails and Photographic Classic, as well as 3rd place in Boxed Mixed Media and 1st place in Photographic Nail Art.
Kayley owns and runs The Nail Boutique, Billericay, and offers a full range of nail education as a part of the Hazel Dixon Nail Artist Academy.
No stranger to the competition floor, she has been a finalist in the Scratch Stars Awards and views competing as a form of CPD.
“Getting ready for a competition takes a lot of time, commitment and focus,” Kayley revealed in her Scratch Stars 2018 entry. “Whether a live competition or a national award competition, you are forced to be ultra critical of both your strengths and weaknesses in order to improve.
“It is this intense self scrutiny teamed with valuable feedback afterwards that helps us to grow and develop as a professional.”
